Sonic Forces On Nintendo Switch Runs At 30FPS

We were, perhaps, anticipating that Sonic Forces on Nintendo Switch would have some technical compromises in comparison to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions, given the differences in hardware limitation.

Sonic Stadium went hands-on with the blue blur’s next adventure at E3 2017, and have noted that it runs at 30 frames per second on Nintendo Switch – compared to 60 frames per second on other platforms.

They also spotted that “texture and models are of lower quality, with certain effects either trimmed down or removed entirely.” That sees the grass in Green Hill Zone “far more jagged,” and the shadows cast by Eggman’s Eggmobile being “distinctly lower resolution” with inconsistent levels of darkness.

It must be said that the E3 2017 build shouldn’t be seen as being entirely representative of what the final game will be, as Sonic Team still has time to make improvements before release.

Sonic Forces will release on Nintendo Switch worldwide in Holiday 2017.
