Sonic Colours clinches 2.18 million sales

Sonic Colours

Having launched last November, Sonic Colours (or Colors for North American readers) proved to be a promising return to form for SEGA’s speedy blue hedgehog – as I was keen to point out in my reviews for both the Wii and Nintendo DS versions.

It’s nice to learn, through a recent earnings report released by SEGA, that the title sold respectively well at retail, clinching a mighty 2.18 million unit sales worldwide and becoming the publisher’s most successful title for the 2010 fiscal year.

In addition, Iron Man 2 managed to achieve sales of 1.54 million across Europe and North America, whereas PlatinumGames’ Vanquish sold 830,000 units worldwide. PC-only release Shogun 2: Total War, released across Europe and North America in March, has already hit an impressive 600,000 sales, whereas Japan-only PSP release Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity sold 370,000 units.
