SEGA have revealed that Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is the final title for the sprightly blue hedgehog’s Wii U outing.

This plays reference to the game’s new villain, a monstrous snake-like creature from an ancient race who employs use of sophisticated robotic body armour. Sonic and pals must prevent Lyric from powering his army of robots, threatening to use them to fulfill his desire to destroy the world.

The Wii U title, which grounds itself in the action-adventure genre, will incorporate over-the-top speed runs, intense combat, and the new Enerbeam. This energy-charged cord can be used to swing or zip-line your way across gaps, or yank shields away from enemies during combat.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric will release exclusively on Wii U this November.
