Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric will feature four-player co-operative modes

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric creative director Bob Rafei has revealed that the Wii U exclusive will incorporate four-player co-operative modes.

Accessed through the game’s centralised hubs, these are independent of the story and are entirely optional experiences that will allow multiple players to band together as the blue blur and his accompanying pals. Each have their strengths and weaknesses, and Sonic Boom looks to showcase them uniting together to disrupt the evil plans of new villain, Lyric.

While Rafei wouldn’t lend any further details as to precisely what these will involve just yet, we’ll take a punt that these separate activities will either be challenges or mini-games – serving as an entertaining distraction to the main event.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric will release exclusively for Wii U across Europe and North America this November.
