Activision has teamed up with Autism Speaks, sharing their creative collaboration with Skylanders SuperChargers to help promote Autism Awareness Month in April.

That invites fans to join the Light it up Blue campaign, with plans to launch new Power Blue Skylanders SuperChargers toys with the goal to raise awareness. These are blue and white to reflect the Autism Speaks brand colour scheme, seeing new Splat and Trigger Happy toys released as well as their SuperCharged vehicles Splatter Splasher and Gold Rusher.

“It is estimated that 70 million people are affected by autism worldwide. We’re proud to work with Skylanders, an iconic franchise that’s known for bringing joy and magic to kids and families,” comments Peter Morton, vice president of corporate development at Autism Speaks.

“This year’s Light it up Blue campaign for World Autism Awareness Day marks our first alliance with a videogame and toy, and we couldn’t be more excited.”

Activision are to also launch employee education and employee-donation matching programmes in connection with Autism Awareness Month, and will make donations to non-profit organisations that “that are making a difference in the autism community.”

The Power Blue Skylanders SuperChargers toys will become available at retailers across the United Kingdom from Friday 18th March.
