17-BIT and Golem Entertainment have revealed that Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition will release on Nintendo Switch next month.

The fast-paced, highly tactical, samurai-inspired turn-based strategy game is set in Feudal Japan, where you play as the recently deceased General Akamoto – Japan’s mightiest Samurai General who was stabbed in the back by an unknown assailant on the eve of his greatest battle.

That will see you enter the Samurai Afterlife and join forces with Ghost-Samurai warriors, magical animal-monks, and mustachioed Samurai Generals, as you do your best to conquer four regions and capture the Skulls of the Shogun.

You will control General Akamoto and his army of soldiers, delivering five orders to be carried out each turn. Beyond killing units, you can bolster minions by eating skulls, and haunting rice fields and buildings.

There is also an all-new Tanuki Monk unit and an episode that it appears in, as well as a new Developer Commentary.

Skulls of the Shogun: Bone-A-Fide Edition will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on July 11th, priced at £17.99.
