The Pokémon Company International and Game Freak have revealed that, to celebrate the holidays, Magikarp are now appearing in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield’s Max Raid Battles “for a limited time only.”
The Magikarp that you will encounter in these Max Raid Battles “have a much higher than normal chance of being Shiny.”
You can also enter the password 0T0SH1DAMA on the in-game Mystery Gift menu to receive 10 Dive Balls, until the code expires on 31st January 2020.
“To face a Magikarp in a Max Raid Battle, you’ll need to connect your Nintendo Switch system to the internet,” The Pokémon Company International explains.
“Then, whenever you see a red pillar of light shining from a Pokémon Den in the Wild Area, you can walk up to the Pokémon Den and interact with it to start an encounter with a Dynamax Pokémon in a Max Raid Battle.”
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
