PikPok has revealed that Shatter Remastered Deluxe is coming to Nintendo Switch, promising to deliver “an intense arcade action experience.”

This has seen the developer optimise the original PlayStation 3 game, released back in July 2009, which challenges you to master mind-bending physics to “manipulate and bounce balls at increasingly complex geometric structures.”

With the chance to control the angle of each ball’s trajectory for precision attacks using the Suck and Blow mechanic, you also have access to power-ups such as the Unstoppaball and Maneuveraball.

There are 71 “richly detailed sci-fi-inspired stages” to work your way through, lining up precision shots to defeat insane boss battles along the way – gather Shards letting you unleash the powerful Shardstorm to help your efforts.

There are also additional Endless, Boss Rush and Time Attack modes, global leaderboards to compete on, and the chance to team up in local multiplayer in the Endless Co-op Multiplayer and Time Attack Co-op Multiplayer modes.

“When we launched the original Shatter in 2009, we were blown away by the critical acclaim and success, and the industry recognition and awards were confirmation we had succeeded in our goal of reinventing the brick-breaking genre,” explains PikPok CEO Mario Wynands. “As a recognized ‘modern retro’ classic, we are excited to now bring Shatter Remastered Deluxe to a contemporary audience taking advantage of all the capabilities of the consoles of today, including stunning 4k resolution, enhanced FX, and a 5.1 surround sound remastered soundtrack.”

Shatter Remastered Deluxe will release digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide later this year, priced at $9.99.
