Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun Out On Nintendo Switch 2 Next Month

Daedalic Entertainment has confirmed a release date for Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun on Nintendo Switch 2, news that was shared in this week’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase presentation.

From developer Mimimi Games, this stealth strategy game is set against the backdrop of Japan’s Edo period.

In a series of missions, you will command a team of deadly specialists who each have their own distinct toolkit: the agile ninja Hayato; sniper Takuma; the trap-setting street kid Yuki; the samurai Mugen; and the master-of-disguise Aiko.

Each character has their own background and personal stakes, with the group’s relationships evolving throughout the course of the game’s campaign, “delivering a strong, character-driven story that’s as memorable as the gameplay.”

Your success in missions will require planning, observation and “executing the perfect multi-character strategy play in the shadows,” considering patrol routes, sightlines and timing to sneak through locations while distracting guards, setting traps, poisoning targets or completely avoiding confrontation.

The Nintendo Switch 2 port has improved loading times, polished performance and support for mouse control with the Joy-Con 2. The publisher has confirmed that the game will run in 1080p at 30 frames per second in Handheld mode, and 4K at 30 frames per second when docked in TV mode.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 18 March 2026.
