Nintendo has confirmed a release date for Sephiroth in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The mascot brawler’s next DLC fighter will be made available on Tuesday 22nd December, which, for Europe, will be on Wednesday 23rd December given the difference in time zone.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai broke down the One-Winged Angel in a 35-minute presentation, revealing that players could unlock the character early if they beat the limited-time Sephiroth Challenge event.

This is the third Challenger Pack in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which will include a new Northern Cave stage and nine music tracks and remixes from Final Fantasy VII.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
