Soon after their confirmation that development of Aliens: Colonial Marines on Wii U has been cancelled, SEGA have reaffirmed their commitment to the console.

“We are constantly looking at all areas of our business and in this case have made the decision to not continue development of the Wii U version,” reads a statement provided to Game Informer.

“Rest assured that we have some fantastic developments for Wii U in the pipeline which we will announce at a later date.”

With third-party developers seemingly stepping away from Nintendo’s latest home console, it’s at least reassuring to see that the decision was only in relation to Aliens: Colonial Marines, and not the system itself.
