SEGA are suing LEVEL-5 in regards to a patent infringement, Yomiuri report.
The lawsuit lays claim to the use of an in-game mechanic that enables players to move characters through use of a finger or stylus, with the Inazuma Eleven series at fault in particular.
If successful, SEGA is asking that the sale of all eight Inazuma Eleven games be halted, and seeks ¥900 million ($11 million) in damages.
In responding to the suit, LEVEL-5 commented: “Inazuma Eleven does not violate SEGA’s patents. As a result of examining these discrepancies, we’ve concluded that there is no patent violation.”
