As teased last week, SEGA and Game Freak have today revealed the game that they are collaborating on as Tembo the Badass Elephant.

The 2D side-scrolling action adventure will place players in Shell City, which has been plunged into a state of emergency after coming under a devastating attack from PHANTOM. As terrifying war machines tear through the city, the National Army’s General Krenman calls on Tembo to chomp and stomp its way through their invaders to obliterate them.

However, what we weren’t expecting was that it won’t be coming to either Wii U or Nintendo 3DS. SEGA have announced that the game’s only destined for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, snubbing the platform holder that Game Freak have long been associated with.

“We’re delighted to be working with Game Freak to bring this heavyweight adventure to an audience we feel it will have relephants to,” comments SEGA Europe’s senior vice president of commercial publishing John Clark. “It’s a trunkful of fun and we think gamers are going to love it. Hopefully more than my rubbish elephant puns.”

Tembo the Badass Elephant will release as digital download in Summer 2015.
