SEGA and M2 have revealed that SEGA AGES Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will release on Nintendo Switch next week.

Remembered as one of the most successful games for the SEGA Mega Drive (or SEGA Genesis), the 1992 classic sees the blue blur team up with Tails to defeat Dr Eggman and recover the Chaos Emeralds from the clutches of evil.

The competitive two-player mode makes a return, while new features include the Drop Dash that was introduced in Sonic Mania, Super Sonic Mode that lets you play as the overpowered hedgehog from the start of the game, and a Time Trial mode that has online rankings.

There’s also Knuckles the Echidna, which means that you will no longer need your copy of Sonic & Knuckles to play as the “grape-loving knucklehead.”

SEGA AGES Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 20th February 2020 priced at £5.99 ($7.99).
