Megabit Publishing and Milky Tea Studios have announced that Vaewolf is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
Pitched as “a bold hack-and-slash power fantasy that transforms players from a young elf survivor into an unstoppable supernatural predator,” you play as the Vaewolf, a legendary hybrid of werewolf and vampire.
Harnessing devastating powers and awakening deadly new abilities, you will hunt down the Viking clan responsible for the slaughter of your family in a gameplay experience that is “built around relentless combat, fluid shapeshifting, and a ceaseless quest for revenge.”
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Become the Vaewolf: Half-werewolf, half-vampire – all vengeance. In this bloodthirsty Hack and Slash power fantasy, unleash your relentless wrath in a brutal, ceaseless quest for revenge. Master your newly awakened powers as you ravage through the untamed English North, transforming from a young elf survivor into an unstoppable, unnatural weapon of retribution.
- Unleash the Beast: Harness the legendary powers of the Vaewolf and master its deadly incarnations: strike your enemies from distance with the Elf’s ruthless precision; command the Werewolf’s raw fury and tear their defences to shreds; and dominate the battlefield with the Vampire’s dark magic.
- Claim What Is Owed: Tread the brutal, undying path of violence in a never-ending cycle of revenge. Awaken devastating new abilities as you relentlessly hunt down the dark Viking clan who murdered your family. Shapeshift at will, combine your skills into brutal takedowns and unleash your vengeance and fury on all who stand in your way!
- A Tale from the Untamed North: Fight through the wilds of the ancient English North and traverse hand-drawn environments inspired by real locations from the Lake District – from the raw mountains and lakes of Cumbria to the forbidding caverns and ruins of the Underworld. Crafted in the spirit of Hergé’s visual flair and the dark mythology of Mike Mignola.
Vaewolf will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in 2027.
