Disney Interactive has revealed that Disney Illusion Island will receive a free content update that adds the Cave Adventuring Scavenger Hunt (C.A.S.H.).
With help from Scrooge McDuck and a new ability called Dig! C.A.S.H., you will have the chance to hunt for permanent upgrades. The C.A.S.H. update is out on 30 May 2025, when the game breaks its Nintendo Switch exclusivity and comes to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.
Disney Illusion Island is 2D co-op platformer adventure in which you join Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy on a quest to explore the mysterious island of Monoth in an effort to recover the three mystical Tomes that once protected it to save the world from disaster.
Dlala Studios is the developer behind the game, who most recently worked on the Battletoads reboot for Xbox One and Windows PC. With the voice actors for Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy and an original orchestral score, you can either play solo or team up with up to three friends in local co-op. Adventuring with others will let you use special team skills such as Rope Drop, Leap Frog and a heart-gifting Hug to save the island.
We scored the game an 8 out of 10, with Ryan Janes writing in his review: “Disney Illusion Island may not rewrite the Metroidvania handbook nor does it ever feel particularly challenging, but what it does, it does exceptionally well. Throughout the six-hour journey, my wife and I couldn’t stop smiling; between the colourful worlds and their light puzzly-platformy layouts, enchanting soundtrack and fun banter between its four main leads. Disney fans will adore everything about this game while those looking for a more laid-back, less demanding adventure will appreciate what’s on display too.”
