Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt will leave in summer, after a decision was made to permanently dissolve his role.

IGN cites their sources at the company, who describe the outcome of the situation as being “amicable” between both parties.

Moffitt oversaw all sales, sales operations, consumer and digital marketing and corporation activities for Nintendo in the United States, Canada, and Latin America. Such responsibilities will reportedly be assigned to staff in the department.

He joined Nintendo of America in May 2011, having previously worked at Henkel Consumer Goods where he had overseen North American operations for the Personal Care Division. He named his favourite Nintendo character as Mega Man, and took over the role from Cammie Dunway after she left the company in 2010.
