Save Your Battery With Miitomo’s Power-Saving Mode

Miitomo may have topped the App Store chart and surpassed three million downloads, but I have seen repeated concerns about how quickly it appears to be draining smart phone batteries.

That expectedly varies depending on which phone you have, but Nintendo has added a Power-Saving Mode in their free-to-start social experience that will hopefully help to reduce the impact.

If you head to Miitomo’s Settings menu and, below the chance to choose which Push Notifications you receive, you can flick the app’s Power-Saving Mode on.

Nintendo warn that it “may affect the app’s performance,” but, having had the option activated over the past day, I haven’t encountered many issues aside from the frame rate seeming to be a little more inconsistent.

Miitomo has now launched in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, United States, and Canada, with more countries to follow.
