Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that Digimon Story Time Stranger is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch, news that was shared in this week’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase presentation.
From developer h.a.n.d., the game has been “designed to be the perfect entry point to the series for RPG enthusiasts.”
Finding yourself thrown in the midst of a world-entangling event with both the human and the digital world on the precipice of ruin, to save both worlds, you must tame Digimon and work together, forging bonds and evolving your Digimon’s abilities.
With more than 450 Digimon to collect, tame and fight, you will set out on the journey of a lifetime and travel between the two worlds, and even across time.
On Nintendo Switch 2, players can choose to play in either Quality Mode (4K HDR, up to 30 frames per second docked; Full HD, up to 30 frames per second handheld) or Performance Mode (Full HD, up to 60 frames per second docked and handheld).
The Season Pass for the Nintendo Switch version will include the game’s three downloadable packs, which each introduce five additional Digimon and an additional story episode. These will be released individually “in the months following release.” The Season Pass will also include the Golden Moai farm item, which can be used to decorate the Digifarm.
The full list of pre-order editions of Digimon Story Time Stranger include:
- Standard Edition: Base Game, Uniform of a Certain School costumes, Adventure Item set, Agumon (Black) and Gabumon (Black)
- Digital Deluxe Edition: All Standard edition content plus Cyber Sleuth Set Costumes, Season Pass
- Digital Ultimate Edition: All Digital Deluxe edition content plus Costume Pack (3 costumes per character, 3 additional side missions), Early unlocks of special Agumon and Gabumon, with their Digivolution conditions to specific Digimon already unlocked, Public Safety Suit Costumes and Special Supplies Set, Cyber Sleuth BGM Pack
Digimon Story Time Stranger will be released at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch worldwide on 10 July 2026.
Those who pre-order the game will receive bonuses like the Uniform of a Certain School costumes, Adventure Item set and Agumon (Black) and Gabumon (Black).
