Curve Games and Patattie Games have confirmed a release date for Wax Heads on Nintendo Switch.
Pitched as a “cosy-punk narrative sim about running a struggling record shop,” you play as the newest employee at Repeater Records. This legendary record shop is renowned for always recommending the right vinyl to the right customer, but, as it struggles to adapt to a changing world, you must chat with its quirky customers to find the perfect LP for them.
Created as a love letter to music culture, the game blends charming puzzle design with visual storytelling. Challenging you to use conversation clues and social clues as you explore Repeater Records, there are more than 80 in-game records to discover, over 60 hand-drawn characters to meet, and more than 30 original songs that are performed by the developers, their family and close friends.
“With Wax Heads, we’re bringing back the magic of human connection in music,” explains Patattie Games creative director Murray Somerwolff. “We want to celebrate and reignite the passion that is discovering music in a physical space. To recapture the joy of rummaging through albums, to find something to hold in your hand, a song to lose yourself in, an album to cry to, a new band to call your own.”
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- A gorgeous comic book art style, including 50+ hand-drawn records and customers.
- A lovingly handcrafted, immersive musical world with cosy-punk vibes.
- An emotional, uplifting narrative about community, mystery and the underdog spirit!
- Charming puzzle design, mini games…and virtual pets!
- Punchy, humorous and affectionate dialogue, set to a killer original soundtrack.
Wax Heads will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 5 May 2026.
