Rumour: Wii U to release ahead of Black Friday

A GameStop employee in New Jersey has stated that the Wii U will launch prior to Black Friday, GoNintendo report.

Black Friday, which takes place the day following Thanksgiving Day in North America, is traditionally seen as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. To mark such fact, major retailers offer promotional sales to kick it off in style.

Nintendo will, purportedly, release the Wii U during the week of Black Friday, with GameStop set to open pre-orders next week. Additionally, software has now been priced at $49.99.

As always, we’ll have to await an official announcement from Nintendo themselves before we can believe any of this.
