Rumour: PlatinumGames Has Three Nintendo Switch Games In Development

It’s time for yet another rumour to surface online, which suggests that PlatinumGames has three Nintendo Switch games in development.

The first game we already know about, of course, after Bayonetta 3 was revealed to the world at The Game Awards 2017. Work on this next chapter in the Umbra Witch’s story is progressing “very, very well,” even though we haven’t seen it since. Perhaps it will make an appearance at The Game Awards 2018 in a few weeks time.

As to what the other two games that rumour-monger LeakyPandy has been told exist are shrouded in uncertainty, although their source(s) claims that Hideki Kamiya is involved with all three projects.

“PlatinumGames has two more games for Switch beside Bayonetta 3,” they wrote on Twitter. “[Hideki] Kamiya is credited in all three of them. Both Bayonetta 3 [and] a second game target 2019.”

The developer has spoken about wanting to port The Wonderful 101 to the portable home console, and have also teased a top-secret project that will “turn the action genre on its head.”

Back in May, PlatinumGames executive director and producer Atsushi Inaba had also mentioned that they have “a really interesting bunch of different games” in development, so it will be hard to pinpoint what is in the works for Nintendo Switch until the news – or more detailed rumours – surface.
