Nintendo NX news remains resoundingly silent, but that isn’t preventing purported leaks from surfacing on the internet to satisfy our insatiable appetite for actual information regarding the “dedicated game platform.”

The latest is that Nintendo are considering porting four Wii U exclusives, namely The Legend of Zelda, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Super Mario Maker and Splatoon.

It isn’t the first time that we have heard about the first two, Kantan Games CEO Dr. Serkan Toto mentioning way back in January that Nintendo’s mascot brawler was planned as a launch title. Super Mario Maker and Splatoon are more uncertain, with Nintendo trying to work out the intricacies of transferring player data, courses and cross-platform compatibility.

That has been backed by Emily Rogers, who shared: “The following Wii U ports in development for NX: Zelda, Smash Bros, Mario Maker, Splatoon. But… and yes there’s a “But” … Just because something is in development doesn’t mean it’ll be released. So either all four of these ports will come… or only two of them. I spoke with at least 10 people regarding these four ports. Splatoon is up in the air. Zelda / Smash Bros sound like guarantees.”

Liam Robertson later corroborated, in that the Super Mario Maker port is in development.

What’s clear is that Nintendo need to start talking to retake control of the conversation, and many hope that their fiscal year earnings releaseon April 27th will be the start of their next chapter.
