Nintendo will broadcast a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on Thursday 5 February, it has now been claimed, after rumours about an upcoming presentation circled earlier this week.
The rumblings first came from established insider Nate, who revealed what he had heard about Nintendo’s upcoming plans in the latest episode of Nate the Hate Podcast (Timestamp: 5 minutes 49 seconds).
Unable to confirm whether it would be a main Nintendo Direct or Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase when the episode was recorded, Nate has since stated that he has now been able to verify with his contacts that it will indeed be a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase.
The company has begun 2026 with two shorter, dedicated Nintendo Directs – one last weekend that was used to share a new trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, and a presentation focused on Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream that provided an overview of the game and was used to confirm its release date.
The last Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase was broadcast in July 2025, and detailed upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games, including Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, Persona 3 Reload, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Star Wars Outlaws, Borderlands 4, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales and Octopath Traveler 0.
