Mother 3 was rumoured to release on the Wii U Virtual Console service early last year, after Emily Rogers teased that Nintendo was preparing to celebrate “a game’s 10th anniversary.”
Those whispers were backed by another Nintendo tipster and other websites such as Eurogamer, but, as we near a year since the rumour emerged, the game is still to make an appearance.
Laura Kate Dale has now thrown her own hat into the ring, claiming that the Game Boy Advance RPG is now bound for the Nintendo Switch Virtual Console and that the news will be shared at the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 next week.
“Mother 3 VC Switch Q2 2017. Will be announced Jan 12 event,” Dale revealed on Twitter. “I know the Mother 3 port rumour has existed for a long time. I’m sticking my flag in Switch Q2 2017.”
The Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will broadcast at 8pm PT (11pm ET) on Thursday 12th January or 4am GMT (5am CET) on Friday 13th January.
I imagine the translated title would be called “EarthBound II: Lucas’ Adventure” or “EarthBound Endings”.
