Rumour: Beyond Good & Evil 2 Is A Nintendo Switch Timed Exclusive

Beyond Good & Evil 2 has been a project that we have heard about on repeat occasion in the run up to the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017.

After it was rumoured as a Nintendo Switch exclusive, creator Michel Ancel went on to confirm that the game was in development at Ubisoft Montpellier.

Laura Kate Dale went on to detail that it would release as a Nintendo Switch exclusive in 2018, and has since learned that this will only be timed exclusivity with PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions planned a year after the game’s initial launch.

“BGE2 codename is Odyssey. Exclusive to Switch for 12 months only, retail and digital versions. After 12 months digital on PS4 and XB1,” Dale revealed on Twitter. “PC Port after 12 months too. BGE2 Odyssey teaser is done. Likely to be at the end of the end of Jan 12 event.”

Dale went on to share how she had sourced the information on Lets Play Video Games, explaining: “I was reached out to by a verifiable Ubisoft source regarding this info. The source was able to show verifiable evidence of the information in these tweets.

“They are the most up to date information I have on these projects and I believe this is currently the most accurate information available on these projects.”

The Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will broadcast at 8pm PT (11pm ET) on Thursday 12th January or 4am GMT (5am CET) on Friday 13th January.
