This month’s Nintendo Direct brought news that Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2’s release has been brought forward, however Nintendo have remain tight-lipped about precisely what content it will contain.

Step in NeoGAF‘s sleuths, who recalled that, when The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 1 was released, the Wii U exclusive’s file system was updated with a list of tracks and their corresponding audio.

There were 13 additions, and, with DLC Pack 1 containing eight new tracks, that left another five that were unaccounted for. That’s now set the rumour mill in motion, with those that remained now believed to be part of DLC Pack 2’s contents.

Those that we can recognise are Mario Kart 7’s Neo Bowser City (or Koopa City), Mario Kart: Double Dash‼’s Baby Park, and the already revealed Animal Crossing course. Whereas WU_METRO and WU_WOODS continue to puzzle everyone.

Racing around Baby Park’s oval course at a blistering 200cc is enough to excite us though, which, while a rumour for now, we’re sure that Nintendo will confirm DLC Pack 2’s content within the coming week. (Potentially shattering our dreams in the process.)

Animal Crossing x Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 2 will release worldwide on Thursday 23rd April.
