Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch was a special announcement that the entrepreneurial raccoon Tom Nook had made to close last month’s Nintendo Direct presentation.

With Nintendo having only made the promise that everyone’s favourite community simulation series will return in 2019, many have speculated when this next game is likely to release.

However, LootPots report that sources have indicated that the game could release far sooner than expected, in that it could release as early as March 2019.

“Information from one of our sources suggests that Animal Crossing on Nintendo Switch is most likely set for a late Q1 or early Q2 (calendar year) release date. Which in layman’s terms means sometime around March/April 2019. The game is also rumoured to be targeting a suggested retail price of €59.99,” their report states.

“While an early release may sound fantastic, and this particular source has been correct in the past, it’s always best to take rumours with a pinch of salt. Nothing is official until Nintendo puts out an announcement and rumours remain rumours until proven otherwise.”

LootPots is run by Pixelpar, who accurately leaked information about Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee! before their official announcement.

Animal Crossing for Nintendo Switch (working title) will release for the portable home console worldwide in 2019.
