It seems that Nintendo of America has let slip some minor information about Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield ahead of schedule, in revealing that you will challenge Gym Masters in the Galar region.
“It appears in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield that gyms in the Galar region are now bigger than ever!” Nintendo of America wrote in a since-deleted tweet. “What types of Gym Masters are waiting for you to challenge them? You and your new partner Pokémon will have to train hard and find out!”
That means that Gym Masters will replace Gym Leaders, and also reveals that the football stadiums that can be spotted on the map of the Galar region will be the Gyms that you will face on your road to become Champion.
In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, you will team up with Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble and have the chance to explore the Galar region, with its idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forests, and craggy, snow-covered mountains.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will release exclusively for Nintendo Switch worldwide in late 2019.
