Infinite Zone has confirmed a release date for Down Among The Dead Men on Nintendo Switch, an adaptation of the critically acclaimed gamebook by Dave Morris.
This will thrust you into the pirate-infested world where empires clash, sea monsters lurk and loyalty is worth less than an overstuffed chest of gold.
You start as a fugitive from a vengeful captain, your journey leading you to take the help of your own ship with which your decisions will sway the balance of power across the sea.
The developer has looked to streamline the gamebook experience through character sheets, auto-save, dynamic artwork, and even full narration so new readers can enjoy the story.
The character classes that you can choose between each come with their own backstory, stats, items, and more, which immediately change how your story will begin each time. There are critical choices to make at every turn and 11 story moments to discover, meaning that the experience can be replayed over and over to see them all.
The developer has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Write Your Own Legend: Choose from seven unique character classes, including the Buccaneer, Changeling, and Warlock, each with a distinct backstory, abilities, and starting resources that fundamentally change your entry into the pirate world.

Down Among The Dead Men will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 12 February 2026.
