Capcom has revealed that it is preparing a free update for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.
Expected to release this summer, the update will introduce “extremely powerful” Royal Monsters, which promise to pose a challenge to Riders who have reached level 90 or above.
“We’re happy to see so many people enjoying the game since its release on March 13. The team has been reading your thoughts and feedback, feeling encouraged and energised by your reactions,” producer Ryozo Tsujimoto explained in a developer message.
“Today, we’d like to share an exciting announcement. In Monster Hunter Stories 3, we are currently preparing a free update featuring extremely powerful versions of Monsters, called Royal Monsters, appearing in the field, allowing players to enjoy even more challenging battles.
“Riders of level 90 or above will need to prepare carefully and use their strongest Monsties and strategies to defeat them. We hope this will push your skills to the limit! This free update is planned for release this summer.”
He continued: “Also, the development for paid DLC ‘Additional Side Story: Rudy’ is currently progressing well, and we’re considering a potential earlier release date. We are planning to share additional info on the DLC in the future. Please bear with us for just a little bit longer. We hope you will continue to enjoy your adventures with your Monsties!”
We enjoyed our time with the game, concluding in our review: “Aside from the minor technical issues, I don’t have many complaints with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection. It’s a big improvement over the already-enjoyable previous games, and while I can still see some room to grow, I think it’s worth appreciating the quality on display here. Capcom, as it turns out, hasn’t lost its knack for making great RPGs featuring dragons and/or dragon-like creatures.”
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is now available at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide.
