PQubeand Kadokawa Games have confirmed that Root Film will release on Nintendo Switch in Q1 2021.

This mystery visual novel is about a TV series called Shimane Mystery Drama Project, in a new story from director Hifumi Kono.

Cancelled for an unknown reason 10 years ago, the project is set to be rebooted with three teams that consist of a director and an actress having been cast.

That includes 23-year-old Rintaro Yagumo, who is the game’s main character. His enthusiasm about this new opportunity is soon drained after a horrible murder interrupts their location scouting process.

You must use the Intuition mechanic to reveal keywords during in-game conversations that will be essential to investigations and confrontations. These can then be used in Max Mode to resolve a mystery, with success requiring that you collect enough evidence beforehand.

Root Film will release at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Q1 2021.
