Koei Tecmo and Kou Shibusawa have confirmed a release date for Romance of The Three Kingdoms XIV: Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack on Nintendo Switch.

This next iteration in historic simulation series comes to the portable home console “loaded with new possibilities” such as trade with Eurasian empires like Rome and India, as you work towards unifying China.

The Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack also introduces cities of foreign forces on the map, with armies now needing to deal with intensified border clashes that heighten the stakes in every skirmish.

There are also geographical advantages to each province that you conquer. If you conquer Wing Province you can expand the area that you conquer, whereas controlling Yo Province will let you open up trade with the region’s nomadic tribe, for example.

The are more additions in new officer characteristics and special tactics, as well as new buildings for specific topography, a calendar that lets you reflect on your previous activities in the game and a new campaign called War Chronicles Mode.

There will be early purchase bonuses on the portable home console, with The Fall of Shu and Battle of Yiling scenarios to be free to download within the first two weeks from launch.
