Psyonix has released a roadmap that details the content and feature updates that they are planning to release for Rocket League in the coming months.

“With our next update fast approaching, we wanted to share with you some of our plans for the first few months of 2018,” explains Corey Davis, senior vice president of game development at Psyonix.

“We’re testing out a new update schedule this year that alternates Content Updates – which include things like new Competitive Seasons (and rewards), Maps, Events, and DLC – with Feature Updates that focus on new functionality like Tournaments or Cross-Platform Parties.

“This alternating schedule lets us update on a more frequent and regular cycle, guarantees you won’t have to wait too long between Competitive Seasons, and lets us spend more time perfecting and bug fixing features before they go live.”

What will interest Nintendo Switch owners more is that, before the end of April, the developer plans to release performance and visual quality updates for the game. This will let players choose between running the game in Performance Mode or Quality Mode.

In Performance Mode, the game will run in 900p when Docked or 720p in Handheld mode and at 60 frames per second with infrequent dynamic resolution scaling. Whereas in Quality Mode, the game will run in native 1080p when Docked or 720p in Handheld mode and at 30 frames per second with added visual effects.

Rocket League is now available on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide.
