Call of Duty creative strategist Robert Bowling has confirmed that he is to depart Infinity Ward, where he has long been one of the most recognisable faces behind Activision’s blockbuster franchise.

“Today, I resign from my position as Creative Strategist of Call of Duty, as a lead of Infinity Ward, and as an employee of Activision”, Bowling announced through social media site Twitter yesterday.

Known more broadly by fans as FourZeroTwo, the name of a public relations and grassroots marketing firm he founded in January 2000, Bowling has been with Infinity Ward since April 2006 – working on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duy: Modern Warfare 3.

“We sincerely thank Robert for his many years of service. He’s been a trusted and valued member of the Infinity Ward team”, Activision commented. “We wish him all the best on his decision to pursue future opportunities”.
