Arc System Works has announced River City Ransom SP, revealed within the pages of the latest Weekly Famitsu magazine.
The Nintendo 3DS exclusive – to be known as Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari SP in Japan – will be part of the publisher’s plans to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Kunio-kun series.
Early information that has been shared promises new events, areas, systems, techniques and combos in comparison to the original that saw release on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989. It traced high school students Alex and Ryan as they fought their way across River City to rescue Ryan’s girlfriend Cyndi from the villainous Slick.
River City Ransom SP will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS in Japan on April 28th, with development currently 65 percent complete.
