Dan Fornace has confirmed a release date for Rivals of Aether: Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch.
This fighting game is set in a world where warring civilizations summon the power of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth.
The developer sees it as “the perfect entry to the Platform Fighter genre,” seeing you choose a Rival and use the powers of the classical elements and animal movement to brawl.
The Versus Mode will let you compete in one-on-one, two-on-two, or free-for-all battles, while there’s a Story Mode, Abyss Mode, Online Versus, and Ranked Mode to participate in.
The Definitive Edition will come with “all characters, stages, and modes unlocked,” as well as “brand new milestones and ways to play.”
That includes a new game mode called Tetherball, which is described as “a sports battle mode that allows players to use their character skills to compete in a best-of-three beach tetherball game.”
Rivals of Aether: Definitive Edition will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide on 24th September 2020.
