Rising Star Games expands to North America

Following success in Europe, Rising Star Games has today announced that the company is to expand to North America, opening new headquarters based in California.

The team will continue to leverage decades of European publishing experience, bringing new exciting releases to consumers within the United States. The first product that they will launch within the region, and simultaneously with Europe, will be Akai Katana for Xbox 360, during Q2 2012, which has been developed by Japanese shooter specialist CAVE.

Accompanying such expansion is the formation of Rising Star Game Digital, a global digital publishing division, that will aim to publish engaging experiences across digital platforms including Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network, Steam, Android and iOS devices.

“After eight years of fantastic success in bringing the best Eastern games to Europe, we’re ready to expand our business, engaging more consumers than ever before in more territories and on digital platforms”, Martin Defries, managing director of Rising Star Games explained. “Rising Star Games Digital has been something we’ve been working on for a while. We envisage a huge growth in downloadable product over the coming years, and intend to play a big part shaping the future development of our exciting industry.”
