Nintendo have acknowledged fans calling for Ridley to make a more significant appearance, and, while not directly playable, their wish has now been granted in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
Samus Aran’s archenemy will be found in the Metroid-inspired Pyrosphere stage, where, if a player attacks him enough he will join their side and help topple all competition. All players can KO Ridley to earn a point for match results, while, if he consumes energy near the side of ledges, he will become the rather vicious Meta Ridley.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will release in North America on November 21st, and in Europe on December 5th.
