Pracy Studios has announced that their story-driven rhythm RPG Nocturne is in development for Nintendo Switch.
Humanity has become extinct, but an echo of civilization lives on. However, not all is as it seems in Maya, the utopian afterlife where humans abandon their corporeal forms to achieve an eternal existence with loved ones in a digital world.
Karma is the world’s first newcomer in thousands of years, who discovers that decay and corruption derail their desperate attempt to reunite with their missing brother.
You must unravel the mysteries of the Blackout, a catalyst that had triggered Maya’s descent into chaos. That will see you expose an insidious threat that lurks among the remains of humanity.
With the developer looking to deliver an “unconventional take on traditional RPG combat,” you will participate in intense rhythm battles that will see you tap to a progressive symphonic rock soundtrack to emerge victorious from battle.
“While I began my career in film, I felt this need to create a narrative experience that can only be crafted in a game,” explains Pracy Studios founder Benjamin Pracy.
“I’m inspired by the brilliance of late ’90s and early 2000’s RPGs, where creativity exceeded the bounds of their technical limitations. In Nocturne, I want to take us back to that era, but with a modern twist.”
Nocturne will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in 2023.
