Q-Games has revealed that PixelJunk Eden 2 will release on Nintendo Switch in the coming months.
This sequel comes from the mind of Baiyon, the creative director and hypnotic soundscape composer behind PixelJunk Eden and Eden Obscura.
Promising “an exploration of life, colour and collaboration,” you must use Grimps to reinvigorate and revitalize the world – jumping, spinning, swinging and taking out invading creatures to collect pollen and restore gardens back to full bloom.
You must cultivate new plants and biomes in these ever-changing gardens of psychedelic sights and sounds, swinging and spinning from silk threads – whether playing solo or teaming up in cooperative play – on your journey to collect Spectra, the source of all life in the world.
“PixelJunk Eden, the first game I ever worked on, is back on console with a whole family of new Grimps!” explains Baiyon.
“Expanding the themes of the series further we explore even more deeply the synthesis between action games and the feeling of painting.
“Actually, it’s a bit of a secret but occasionally while testing the game I felt like I really was painting something and not actually playing a game, never mind an action game! At that moment I felt like I had achieved at least a little bit of what I had set out to do.
“I’m sure you’ll create many of your own pleasant moments so be sure to match the beats and adventure with your Grimps deep into the many kaleidoscopic gardens of PixelJunk Eden.”
PixelJunk Eden 2 will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Summer 2020.
