2D side-scroller ReVeN has taken another step toward reality, with developer Varia Games having achieved and surpassed their Kickstarter funding target.
That has seen backers pledge $33,008, nearly doubling the original $18,000 goal although falling short of their $37k target to expedite the game’s development.
In responding to fears that their game bears too much resemblance to Metroid, the developer has released an extensive gameplay breakdown to introduce viewers to the EDM system that serves as their massive differentiator to other games within the genre.
ReVeN is scheduled to see release in early 2016 across Wii U and 3DS.
