DreadXP and Lovely Hellplace have announced that Dread Delusion is in development for Nintendo Switch 2.
This open-world RPG has taken inspiration from ’90s and ’00s genre classics like King’s Field and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, the developer looking to “combine a gorgeous, nostalgic artstyle with classic RPG gameplay, allowing players to shape their character to suit their playstyle as they explore the vast world.”
With an engaging narrative and imaginative world-building through numerous multiple-ending quests, flexible gameplay options, and many places to explore, questlines to unweave, and locals to meet.
Your decisions have the power to shape how the game’s story unfolds, building your character to face the obstacles that you encounter however you want.
The game comes to the portable home console successor with all the updates added to the Steam version throughout Early Access, such as Hard Mode, airship customisations and the Creature Island content.
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Embark on a world-spanning quest to decide the fate of the land
- Build your character to face challenges the way you want. There’s always an alternative to combat: charm NPCs, pick locks, harness forbidden knowledge and more…
- Explore a world full of unique characters, creatures, challenges, and treasure
- Use Smithing and Alchemy to upgrade equipment – turn a rusty blade into a Master Crafted Clockwork Sword.
- Gameplay inspired by classic RPGs of the 2000s
- Wield a variety of powerful spells and potions to bend reality to your will.
- Join or Oppose various Factions as they pursue their own goals
- A beautiful retro 3D aesthetic
Dread Delusion will be released digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide in Spring 2026.
