Huey Games has announced plans to release Hyper Sentinel on Nintendo Switch, taking flight in the coming months.

The retro-inspired shoot ’em up has been created by indie developer Jonathan Port, after the project was backed on Kickstarter with 18 days remaining on the campaign.

Perfectly summed up as “a super-slick, ultra-fast arcade shooter with an explosive pixel-art aesthetic,” Hyper Sentinel runs at 60 frames-per-second and will boast 12 levels packed with action, power-ups and epic boss encounters.

With the chance to compete in online leaderboards, players can choose between three difficulty modes as they complete 60 medals and learn how to make the most out of the combo-chain score system. Fractures has also penned the heart-pumping SID-style chiptune soundtrack that accompanies the experience.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Hyper Sentinel to Nintendo’s newest platform,” enthused Huey Games CEO and creative director Rob Hewson. “The fast-paced, high-score chasing gameplay loop is a perfect match for the Switch, and we cannot wait for players to take this amazing experience with them on the go.”

Hyper Sentinel will release for Nintendo Switch on the Nintendo eShop later this summer.
