Retro City Rampage DX will shortly be souped up with a free update, with developer Vblank Entertainment looking to tap into the improved innards of the New Nintendo 3DS.
Commendable for sending it down Nintendo’s pipeline in advance of the revised hardware hitting retailer shelves, this will help stabilise the frame rate, add twin-stick support through the C Stick, and even allow the game to be translated into Spanish.
“The next free update for Retro City Rampage DX is coming early next month,” Vblank’s Brian Provinciano wrote on Miiverse.
“It improves the frame rate (now stays at a solid 60fps, won’t occasionally dip), includes a new Spanish translation, allows you to turn cop coins on/off, and for the New 3DS, takes adds C-Stick support and takes full advantage of the faster CPU for a smoother turbo mode, smoother screen effects and faster fast forwarding! More details, soon!”
