It has been revealed that Constantin Film are to expand their business by producing a spin-off TV series based on the Resident Evil movies.

The German production company has been responsible for transitioning Capcom’s survival horror classic to the big screen since 2002, when Resident Evil debuted. This was successively followed by Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Resident Evil: Extinction, Resident Evil: Afterlife and Resident Evil: Retribution, with the concluding Resident Evil: The Final Chapter to begin filming next summer.

The TV series will reportedly follow afterward even though the films, which have generated more than $1 billion, have been widely panned by critics.
