Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 7: Cloud Version will release on Nintendo Switch this week, which, as the name suggests, will let you stream the game on your portable home console.

The survival horror game, which is playable in TV, Handheld and Tabletop modes, and will include access to the Banned Footage Vol. 1, Banned Footage Vol. 2, End of Zoe and Not a Hero downloadable content.

While you will only need to download a special 45MB application, you will have to pay 2,000 yen (£13.99/ $17.99) for a 180-day subscription that, once expired, will wipe your save data as it is stored on Capcom’s server.

There is the chance to play the game for 15 minutes first before deciding whether to pay for the subscription, but, while many will easily be able to complete it in the six months, there are valid concerns over the loss of save data.

Resident Evil 7: Cloud Version will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in Japan on May 24th.
