The Nintendo Switch Pro will enter production as early as July with plans for it to hit retailers “in September or October,” according to the latest report from Bloomberg.

It is believed that the upgraded portable home console could be revealed before E3 2021 starts on Saturday 12th June 2021, allowing third-party publishers to share their plans to support it at the event.

With the price point likely to be higher than than the original £279.99 ($299.99), it is expected that the console will be sold alongside the Nintendo Switch Lite and will replace the standard Nintendo Switch model which will be phased out over time.

With production “to ramp up to a peak in the October-December quarter” despite the widespread semiconductor shortages, Bloomberg believes that the Nintendo Switch Pro will have a 7-inch OLED display from Samsung and faster graphics silicon from Nvidia that will be capable of 4K output when docked to a TV.

Suppliers are reportedly confident that they can meet Nintendo’s production order as the parts that they want to use are subject to less competition than those in rival products. However, it is unclear whether they will be able to meet consumer demand for the upgraded portable home console.
