AMC Games and Studio Seufz have confirmed a release date for their comedy roguelike adventure Lucky Tower Ultimate on Nintendo Switch.
Pitched as “an absurd roguelike with slapstick humour and a hand-drawn aesthetic where no two journeys are ever the same,” it continues a classic Flash game series in which the charming knight Von Wanst repeatedly meets his demise as he attempts to escape evil mastermind Evelius’ hazard-ridden tower that is randomly generated every run.
“We’re so excited for Lucky Tower Ultimate to be leaving Early Access and launching into 1.0,” enthuses Lucky Tower series co-designer and lead artist Anselm Pyta. “We wish our players the best of luck defeating Evelius and destroying the tower, we couldn’t have made the game as hard and as ridiculous as it is without them.”
The publisher has outlined the game’s key features, which include:
- Deceptively Challenging: Lucky Tower Ultimate is an absurd adventure that will bamboozle you in its difficulty, while enchanting you with its absurdly funny charm. Be prepared to perish at the hands of the uncompromising Tower’s traps and monsters countless times before you can even think about escaping to the local village – and only then can progression be earned.
- Improvise, Learn, Die: Embark on a quest with the delightfully narcissistic knight, Von Wanst, as he finds himself zapped into the perplexing Tower with no armour, weapons, or a clear path to escape. Seek aid (and extra firepower) from a lovable cast of quirky companions. With each death, Von Wanst is transported back to the top of the randomly generated Tower to start again, ensuring that no two journeys are ever the same. Lucky Tower encourages improvisation, mastery, and learning as you play. Experiment with puzzles and enemies, and take your time to learn the twists and tricks of the Tower if you want to survive.
