Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has sadly passed away. But while the wider industry and community mourn at the loss of a true visionary, it is important to reflect on the significant impact that he has had on our lives.

Within our tribute video, I’ve looked to capture some of the most memorable and pivotal moments in his career. That ranges from his appearances Electronic Entertainment Expo, speaking “directly” to the community in Nintendo Direct presentations, and his competitive rivalry with Nintendo of America’s Reggie Fils-Aime.

Rest in peace Iwata-san. You forever championed Nintendo’s desire to put smiles on people’s faces around the world, and countless millions are left with memories to treasure forever.
